About Us
A medical clinic for all ages, Family First Health Center of Rexburg is offering Family Practice, Pain Management and Weight Loss services just east of the Hard Hat Steakhouse. This clinic introduces medical services of a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner to the front line of healthcare. I am a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Rosemary Brown, and I have worked in healthcare for over 30 years.

My husband (Thomas Brown) and I live in Chester. We were both raised in Southeast Idaho, and we felt right at home to have some cows in the pasture as we looked out the clinic window. Tom and I raised our four children in Chester and have lived there for 34 years. We now have nine grandchildren—the oldest is eleven!

You can imagine how busy a place can be when our family gets together. I am very comfortable around children and families, and look forward to the variety that families bring into the clinic. At Family First we have goals of treating our patients with dignity, respecting their privacy, and decreasing the spread of infection. As I have spoken with people about this clinic, I have frequently received questions about what it is that a Nurse Practitioner does.

Nurse Practitioners are advanced practice nurses who provide high quality health care services. They diagnose and treat a range of health problems with a unique approach, addressing both care and cure. They help patients make wise health and lifestyle choices. A medical clinic where a Nurse Practitioner is the owner and care provider is unique to the Rexburg area. I provide front line healthcare for all ages, while focusing on the whole person.
My practice is governed by the Idaho State Board of Nursing. I work together with the physicians and healthcare providers in this area--sharing our common interests in improving the lives of those we serve.

When I opened this clinic, I was especially excited to bring my work closer to my home. I am a graduate of Madison High School and Ricks College. My nursing career began in 1972 at Madison Memorial Hospital as a Labor and Delivery RN. Over the years, my nursing career has evolved through almost every aspect of healthcare. Weber State University is where I received my Bachelors Degree in Health Services Administration. I have completed over 14 years of administration in healthcare, including Rehabilitation and Geriatric Nursing. I taught at the ISU Practical Nursing Program at ISU for 6 years while earning my Masters Degree in Nursing.

Since completing my graduate education at ISU, I have been employed in Idaho Falls, providing services for urgent care, skin care, and pain management.

In addition to certification in Family Practice, I am Board Certified by the American Academy of Pain Management (AAPM). When patients come to Family First Health Center for pain treatment, their care is based on the treatment center accreditation criteria of the AAPM. This means that we continue to seek a cause and a cure for the pain. The overall goals of pain treatment at Family First Health Center are to reduce the level of pain and increase overall function. Physical therapy and counseling, as well as other pain reducing therapies, are included in the treatment plan.

More and more people are choosing Nurse Practitioners as their primary healthcare provider. In addition to being top-notch healthcare providers, NPs deliver a unique blend of nursing and medical care. Southeast Idaho has been my lifetime home, so now I am returning to Rexburg to create a medical and healthcare home for you.
